We require a trainee to join our very busy furniture restoration workshop.

No previous experience is required just the right attitude, happy to work on your own initiative with a can do attitude will go a long way. Working within a busy workshop environment, your role will be to work

on damaged furniture helping to restore items to their former glory.


About the role

  • Learn to assess, repair, and restore wooden furniture.
  • Gain hands-on experience with tools, materials, and finishes.
  • Develop conservation ethics and documentation practices.


Essential skills


Good attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.

The ability to work both as part of a team and on your own initiative.


Day-to-day duties

Dismantling furniture and masking where necessary

Preparing furniture for repair and

polishing

Carrying out minor repairs

Hand stripping the varnish and polish from old and damaged furniture

Using a soda blaster for cleaning etc

Hand or machine sanding clean and remove defects from wood

Using and mixing coloured fillers & staining furniture.

Hours

Fulltime 40 hour week -  National Living wage
